La Colectiva Teologica Latina

The third of four volumes in the Theological Education ¡Latinamente! series (Fortress Press), “La Colectiva Teologica Latina” brings together Latina community organizers, clergy, and scholars at various stages of their careers to explore leadership at the intersections of race, gender, and theological education.

Latina women have pushed against the challenges of patriarchy and white supremacy both within and outside of the Latinx community. Yet little has been written on how Latinas have negotiated, pressed against, and even disconnected from power structures to innovate in communities. Whereas the second volume in the Theological Education ¡Latinamente! Series explores how one Latina leader innovated within theological education, this third volume explores how multiple generations of Latinas have used the tools they gained within theological education to innovate outside of its walls.

“La Colectiva Teologica Latina” gathers Latina community organizers, clergy, and faculty at various stages of their careers who have used their training in theological education to innovate outside of the sector. By exploring the leadership of these women we gain a clearer picture of how theological education has dividends far beyond theological education and what new tools the sector needs to train the next generation of leaders.
