HSP Fellows Program

Year-long program for students from Sponsoring Schools to gain non-profit administrative experience.

“As an HSP Fellow, I gained a wide range of professional development. There were opportunities to learn about program development, donor relations, grant writing, effective collaboration, and much more. Additionally, HSP showed me how administrators and educators can come together to ensure community development. HSP closes many institutional gaps for the Latiné community. For these reasons, I will always be grateful for HSP.” Yvette Valenzuela

Program Description

The HSP Fellows Program provides opportunities for graduate students at HSP Sponsoring Schools to develop administrative skills in the non-profit sector that would be immediately applicable to various careers post-graduation. While each Fellow will focus on a particular sub-section of the HSP to help expand and enhance the impact of the organization’s mission, Fellows will regularly meet with one another to share their work and participate in professional development training that will further empower them in their educational journey and career.

Since its first Summer Session in 1989, the Hispanic Scholars Program (HSP) has sought to be a place of welcome in which theological education is made available to all students. In keeping with this commitment, the HSP does not discriminate in its admissions or program practices on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, or any other status protected by law. Applicants are evaluated using program-related criteria such as academic preparation, vocational interest, character, and commitment to theological study. The HSP has always served students, faculty, staff, administrators, and leaders from a wide range of backgrounds. Guided by the values of en conjunto (working together as a community), lo cotidiano (attending to the realities of daily life), and acompañamiento (walking alongside one another), we affirm that all people are created in the image of God and journey together in learning and faith.
